Borage is the Starflower plant Borago officinalis, a European plant with a rich history of use for dispelling melancholy - which is today's state of depression. With a fresh cucumber like flavour, purple star like flowers, and big furry leaves, Borage is a medicine for courage.
 
It can be used as an adrenal tonic for extreme depletion and nervous system repair. Just only use it for short periods of time (no more than 2 months, then take a break) due to the pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA’s). This generous herb gives courage to the heart in times of grief and hardship.
